These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Haven Place Foundation website (“Website”) and related services. By accessing or using the Website or submitting forms (volunteer, mentorship, partner forms) or making donations, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Haven Place Foundation (“HPF”) provides nonprofit program information, donation collection, volunteer and mentorship management, partner engagement, resources, and updates. Specific services include supporting after-school programs, community infrastructure projects, economic empowerment initiatives for women and children, environmental projects, and the HPF Centre of Excellence.

2. Eligibility

By using the Website or applying to volunteer, mentor, partner, or donate, you confirm that you are legally able to enter into these Terms. If you are applying on behalf of a minor, you affirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and consent to the application and any background checks as required.

3. Account Registration and Accuracy of Information

When you submit applications, contact forms, or create accounts where applicable, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to update it as necessary. You are responsible for maintaining the security of any account credentials.

4. Volunteer, Mentorship, and Partner Applications

Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants may be subject to additional checks (reference checks, identity verification, background checks) required by HPF or by partner organisations. By applying, you consent to the collection and verification of information necessary for evaluation and program placement.

5. Donations and Payment Terms
  • All donations are processed by a third-party payment provider. You will be redirected to the donor/payment provider’s secure checkout to complete a transaction. HPF is not responsible for the payment provider’s systems. Please review their terms and privacy policy.
  • Donations are generally non-refundable, except in the case of a demonstrable error or where required by law. If you believe a transaction is incorrect, contact info@havenplacefoundation.org promptly.
  • Tax deductibility of donations depends on donor jurisdiction and local tax law; HPF makes no warranties regarding tax treatment. Donors should consult a tax advisor.
6. Intellectual Property

All content and materials on the Website (text, images, logos, designs, graphics) are owned or licensed by HPF. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission from HPF, except for personal, non-commercial use that does not remove copyright notices.

7. User-generated Content and Publicity

By submitting photographs, testimonials, or other content, you grant HPF a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, and distribute the content for program, marketing, and reporting purposes, unless you expressly state otherwise in writing. For content featuring minors, you represent that you have secured parental/guardian consent.

8. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

Users must not use the Website to:

  • Post unlawful, harassing, hateful, abusive, or otherwise objectionable content.
  • Impersonate others or provide false statements.
  • Upload viruses or malicious code.
  • Violate the rights of HPF or third parties.

HPF reserves the right to remove content or suspend access for breaches of these Terms.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
  • The Website and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. HPF does not warrant that the Website will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, HPF’s total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be limited to direct damages up to the amount of fees paid by you in the last 12 months (where applicable), or GHS [decide and insert figure] if no fees apply.
10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold HPF, its officers, employees, and partners harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your submissions, or your violation of law.

11. Termination

HPF may terminate or suspend your access to the Website and services at any time for breach of these Terms, for legal compliance, or for other legitimate reasons. Users may request the removal of personal data as provided in the Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana unless the parties agree to an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will be posted on the Website with an updated effective date. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
